Welcome to our Hideaway and a little about us!
Hi, Thanks for checking out our place. We are a family of 5- Lucy, Jimi and two bundles of fun Willow and Piper… oh and Morgan our one eyed pirate dog.
After 10 years travelling, we moved to the Surf Coast 7 years ago, and in October 2018 we found our dream block. A humble 330m sq block just a 200m walk from the beach and 10 minute stroll to Torquay town centre.
From that day in 2018 we set out to build our very own beach cabin. We have been on an exciting, fun, challenging, but amazing first time building journey to create our little slice of Surf Coast paradise.
2020 was a ride for everyone, especially our beautiful girls Willow and Piper, between endless weekend jobs, Mum and Dad working from home and long nights on the tools we thought it was time to get on the road, and let them see some of the fun we know Australia can offer.
And so…. after 18 months building our home into such a special place “The Hideaway” is now open for bookings..
We want everyone to be able to enjoy what we have created and we really hope you feel as much joy being here as we do!

Our full recommendations for the most amazing experience on the Surf Coast can be found in the “Explore Our Backyard” section, but just to get you going we suggest:
Cross the road and take a dip as soon as you arrive, or light the wood fire if it’s cold - just embrace the unpredictable Vicco weather.
Theres Surf for all levels on your doorstep, whether its Torquay Point or Cosy Corner for the beginners or Jan Juc to Bells for the knowledgeable, you should be able find a wave no matter the day.
Walk the 2km of Whites Beach from our doorstep to the SaltyDog Cafe and grab the best morning brew on the beach. Remember to take our Salty Dog Keep cups for a discount.)
Take a walk down the foreshore to Blackman’s Brewery for an afternoon ale or ROKU Den, Alisitos or Fishos for dinner.
If you’re keen to stay in, light up the house woodfire pizza oven and get cooking… with a red wine of course.
The beach is 200m away! There’s also plenty of parks for the kids to explore and of course we have the kids covered at home with our little cubbie, deck slide and lawn games for all ages.
Take a walk on the many Surf Coast trails during your stay or venture a little further to Anglesea, Lorne and the Otways.
